Proposition 65, also known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act and referred to in short as "Prop 65," was enacted by the State of California in 1986. Under Proposition 65, businesses (including manufacturers, distributors, re-sellers and retail sellers) selling to anyone in California are required to give a “clear and reasonable warning” about potential exposures to certain chemicals that California has determined cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm.

Proposition 65 was recently amended to include “pre-purchase” warning requirements. In addition to on-product warnings, catalogs and web pages must now carry the same warnings so that consumers in California can see the warnings prior to purchase. New Prop 65 regulations took effect on August 30, 2018, and PartsSource has taken steps to ensure compliance with these new Prop 65 warnings.
To comply with the amended act and to protect our customers, customers who purchase a product through PartsSource that is on the Proposition 65 list will be required to acknowledge receipt and understanding of this information.
Our Marketplace will show the Proposition 65 warning labels on each option of any item in the catalog known to contain chemicals on the Proposition 65 list. Here is what our customers can expect to see:
To purchase an item with a condition that contains the Prop 65 warning label, the acknowledgement must be accepted. This acknowledgement will only be required when customers request products from our catalog that we know (as provided to us by our suppliers) to contain chemicals listed in Proposition 65. The item cannot be added to the cart if the warning acknowledgement is not accepted.
