Overview

With supply costs predicted to exceed labor costs by 2020, Intermountain Healthcare realized that it was time to bring a strategic focus to its supply chain management. The Salt Lake City-headquartered health system, comprised of 24 hospitals across multiple states, asked its Kem C. Gardner Supply Chain Center to examine the current procurement process and determine which system-wide procurement platform would drive standardization; thus, enhancing cost-savings, quality management and overall efficiencies.

Intermountain Healthcare has implemented PartsSource Pro in addition to standardizing contract management process within their Clinical Engineering department. Join us as Kayla Heppler shares specifics regarding her role as Contract Specialist, how her actions are driving contract management standardization throughout the organization’s HTM department and how her team plans to continue to increase efficiency and cost-savings with PartsSource Pro.

Objectives / Goals

  1. Review reasons that led Intermountain Healthcare to implement Supply Chain (and contract management) standardization
  2. Learn specific actions a contract specialist or contract team may engage to standardize contract management within a large, multi-hospital, multi-state health system
  3. Discover the efficiencies gained, costs-saved and future plans for continued improvement with Supply Chain and Contract Standardization at Intermountain Healthcare
